Striped Bass Boat Classic
Results
1.
Date and Duration: Fishing starts at 12:01 a.m. August 27, 2005
and scales close at 3:00 p.m. on September 5, 2005.
2. Tournament Format
- This is an individual angler, boat-only tournament for striped bass.
- Multiple anglers may fish on the same boat, but anglers will compete
as individuals.
- Each angler can weigh-in a total of up to only four (4) fish during
the tournament. There is no bumping of fish.
- An angler can qualify for tournament prizes with less than four fish.
- All fish must be 28” or over in length in accordance with MA
regulations.
- An angler can weigh-in only two fish per day in accordance with MA
regulations.
- Combined weight of an angler’s fish will determine the overall
winner within angler’s division.
- Because of the allowance for wire line, striped bass weighed-in for
the tournament count only for the tournament and are not eligible for
any other NAC awards or tournaments.

Entrance Qualifications
- Entry is open to NAC members, sponsored guests, and sponsored juniors.
- Juniors are defined as being 15 years of age or younger.
- Members may sponsor as many Guests and/or Juniors as they desire.
- Entrants may sign up any time after August 1, 2005. Entrants who
sign up on or after August 27, 2005 may only weigh in fish 48 hours
after signing up.
- Entry fee is $50.00 per angler. Juniors will be admitted at no charge
with the written permission of a parent or guardian and are eligible
for only Junior division and largest fish prizes.
4. Gear and Boat Specifications
- Wire line and live bait will be allowed during the tournament.
- No Christmas tree, umbrella, spreader, or hooked teaser rigs will
be allowed on board the boat during fishing.

Weigh-in Procedure
- Weigh-in for the tournament is during normal club hours (9:00 a.m.
– 9:00 p.m.).
- Official weight of fish will be determined only by scales at the
NAC.
- Due to the wire line allowance, anglers must declare if a fish is
for the Striped Bass Classic or for other NAC awards and tournaments
before placing the fish on the scale. Failure to comply with this stipulation
will disqualify that fish from being eligible for weighing at the NAC.
- The angler who catches a fish must be present at the time of weigh-in
and must sign the weigh-in form at that time.
- The weighmaster or designated Tournament Committee Member will have
final jurisdiction over the official recording.
- If an angler has a discrepancy with the weight or status of a fish
after signing the form, the angler can dispute the recording(s) by filing
a protest through the official procedure.
6. Tournament Divisions and Prizes
- Anglers will compete for prizes listed below within one of three divisions.
- Each Male and Female division will award the following prizes.
- 1st Place -- $1000.00
- 2nd Place -- $500.00
- 3rd Place -- Trophy
- The Junior division will be awarded the following prizes.
- 1st Place -- $100.00 NAC gift certificate & trophy
- 2nd Place -- $50.00 NAC gift certificate & trophy
- 3rd Place -- Tournament Hat and Shirt
- In addition to division prizes, all anglers will compete for the following
prizes.
- Largest Fish Trophy - Recognizes largest striped bass in the tournament.
- Largest Fly Rod Fish Trophy – Recognizes largest striped
bass caught on fly rod.

In the event of a tie, place will be decided by the
individual’s single largest fish. If the largest fish weigh
the same, then the second largest fish will determine place, and so
on.
Protest Procedure: If an angler has a dispute or
observes a perceive infraction, they may file a written, signed protest
to the Tournament Committee with 24 hours of the said event. The angler
must clearly describe the circumstances, date, time, and location
of the event. The angler must provide a telephone number and mailing
address for the Committee’s reply with the decision. For perceived
infractions, the protest must include the names of the angler committing
the infraction, captain, boat, and witnesses. Telephone numbers for
timely contacting each mentioned person must be included in the protest.
The Tournament Committee will review all submitted protests and reach
a decision via majority vote of the Committee Members. Within 24 hours
of receipt of the protest, the submitting angler will be notified
by telephone of the decision; a mailed written decision will follow.
The Tournament Committee’s decision will be final.
