Annual Shark Tournament Results

1) IGFA rules apply.

2) Unlimited tackle, unlimited line test is allowed for these prerigged for commercial tuna fishing.

3) Those entrants using gear heavier than 130 pound must declare so when signing up. They will not be eligible for IGFA, Massachusetts, or club records.

4) Only one shark per boat may be brought to dock for weighing per day.

5) No sharks less than 300 lbs will count for score. Exception: Mako, thresher, and Porbeagle 150 lbs minimum. Boats weighing in sharks less than 300 lbs will be penalized 100 points, plus 1 point per pound. Exception: there will be no penalty points for Mako, Thresher and Porbeagle.

6) Fishing hours: Lines in 6:00 am, lines out 3:30 pm. Return each day.

7) All boats must be in position to weigh their fish no later than 7:00 pm. Exceptions: boats hooked up before line out time have unlimited time to fight that fish and return to weigh station. The boat hooked up prior to the lines out time must announce on the designated VHF Tournament Channel that they have hooked up prior to lines out time.

8) Weigh station will be open each day from 12:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

9) Tournament Channel is 78A.

10) All sharks are subject to inspection by tournament biologists.

11) Bang sticks, guns, harpoons and cockpit harpoons are NOT allowed to be used during the tournament, per IGFA rules.

12) Any protest must be made in writing and presented to the tournament committee by 7:15 pm each day.

13) All tournament committee decisions are final.

14) There are no REFUNDS!

15) All fish weighed in for prize consideration must be caught from a registered boat. This is a tournament. In the event of mechanical failure only, participants may fish from another vessel. The tournament committee must be advised in writing prior to the vessel change.

16) There is no limit to the number of rods.

17) All participants are responsible for knowing tournament information and rules reviewed at the Captains’ meeting as well as IGFA rules.

18) All boats are requested to submit daily catch/release affidavits to the tournament biologists.

19) Sportsmanlike conduct ashore and afloat is expected of all participants and their guests.

20) All boats are responsible for disposal of their fish.


SCORING

One point per pound will be awarded for a shark 300 lb or greater. Exception: Mako, Thresher and Porbeagle – 150 lb or greater.
Overall winning score will be combined total points of the two days.

2nd Place: Penn International 50TW reel and cash
3rd Place: Penn International 30TW reel and cash
